'Invest in Progress' was already the philosophy. Building a visual identity to match it was the job.

Info
Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust had always existed under the Baillie Gifford umbrella. As one of the world's most successful investment trusts, they needed an identity of their own. I was brought in to build it from the ground-up.
The brief had a clear philosophical centre: progress, measured over the long term. I grounded the visual system in Moore's Law, the principle that computing capacity doubles every two years, and one Scottish Mortgage believe drives the exceptional companies they back. That idea of exponential, compounding growth gave me a core graphic device: a three-dimensional structure rippling outward from a central form. From there I built a comprehensive identity toolkit, spanning motion assets and a full range of designed applications.
The launch campaign pushed things further, using high-end 3D animation to bring Scottish Mortgage's vision of the future to life across digital, print and out-of-home. A holographic visual treatment connected the brand's long-term ambition to something you could actually see.
